Ten Second Epic to hit the UK with Tour and Single Release

Canadian band Ten Second Epic have announced that finally they are due to grace us with their presence and hit our shores. With a brand new album ‘Hometown’ due out here on the 14th of June via the Atticus Black label, produced by Garth Richardson (Biffy Clyro, Gallows, Red Hot Chilli Peppers)  in Vancouver. The UK are due to be spoilt too with the announcement that “Hometown” will be released in the UK with 5 bonus tracks from their debut EP. Read more

Woodpigeon – Die Stadt Muzikanten [Album]

The opening and title track for “Die Stadt Muzikanten” could fool you into thinking you are listening to an old 78rpm shellac recording of a bygone time: it starts with antique vinyl crackle, distant and echoing piano ivories being tinkled with sad violin accompaniment and the muffled crooning of band leader Mark Hamilton. Download announce 30 more bands

It’s official Download Festival officially has more bands than you could shake a stick at. Unless of course the stick was size of the Eiffel Tower which would of course require the strength of 37 elephants and 12 gorillas. Gorillas and elephants are notoriously bad at working together making the argument purely academic.

What isn’t academic however are the 30 acts added to this years gargantuan roster in Downloads attempt to become the worlds first festival visible from space! Read more

Tony Sly - 12 Song Program [Album]

No Use for a Name’s vocalist and songwriter, Tony Sly, created this solo album called 12 Song Program. After more than twenty years of fronting No Use for a Name, Tony Sly has ventured off on his own to again create this masterpiece. It was made on the months that he was off tour. It sounds very similar to something that NUFAN would create if they happened to do an album unplugged. It is a simple yet poetic acoustic album that most perfectly displays Sly’s songwriting ability. The Twilight Sad - The Room [Single]

The Twilight Sad remade two songs and decided to release them on an LP with just three tracks. Before these tracks were remade they were on a 2008’s release: “The Twilight Sad Killed My Parents and Hit the Road” as ‘Untitled 27’ and ‘Untitled 28’. They also appeared on 2009’s “Forget the Night Ahead” album. So these songs are not new, but they definitely have a new and improved sound. Read more
