FEAR FACTORY RETURN TO THE UK FOR BLOODSTOCK AND SONISPHERE FESTIVALS!
DINO CAZARES AND BURTON C BELL REUNITED
FEAR FACTORY TO PLAY BLOODSTOCK AND SONISPHERE FESTIVALS
Two decades since the pairing of Dino Cazares and Burton C Bell put down the first tunes for what was to become FEAR FACTORY, the pair have put wandering differences aside and have decided to continue creating their unique brand of Cyber Metal – which they will be bringing to the UK this summer for what will be two unforgettable shows.
FEAR FACTORY will be performing at SONISPHERE Festival (Knebworth, 1st – 2nd August) alongside METALLICA, LINKIN PARK, NINE INCH NAILS, MACHINE HEAD and many more, as well as BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR (14th – 16th August, Catton Hall, Derby) where a plethora of Metal acts such as CARCASS, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH and BLIND GUARDIAN will join them.
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD bassplayer Byron Stroud and drum legend Gene Hoglan (SYL, DARK ANGEL, TESTAMENT, DEATH, DETHKLOK) complete the line up, making for one hell of a well oiled machine, one that Dino is extremely excited about:
“… our first rehearsal… was amazing” stated the guitarist. “The vibe was really good. It felt like we never stopped jamming. You know, Burton’s always got a million ideas and obviously I shit out riffs, and playing with one of the best drummers in the world…for me, it’s one of the best collaborations that I’ve ever been a part of.”
It has been seven years since Dino and Burton have played together, and this summer UK fans have TWO opportunities to hear classics like “Scapegoat”, “Replica” and “Edgecrusher”, performed how they should be, with Dino’s signature guitar style and Burton’s instantly recognisable vocals.
SWASHBUCKLE – reveal cover artwork!
AHOY! New Jerseys pirate thrash armada SWASHBUCKLE just revealed the cover artwork for their Nuclear Blast debut “Back To The Noose“! Please find the cover attached.
“Aye, we pirates three commissioned the likes of the finest artisan we could scour amoungst the blackhearts of digital designers for the artwork for “Back to the Noose”. Adam Vehige is his name, and kicking conceptual ass is his game. We brought this legend of graphical creation our “Back to the Noose” concept of Captain Crotchrot (our recurring decaying mascot miscreant) breaking free of the gallows to join an intense cannon warfare battle upon the ocean's blue. Adam accepted our payment of stolen gold shillings and doubloons (aye, blood money, and cursed it be) and rendered us some brutal cover art. If ye be seekin' nautical nonsense and high-seas hijinx, vicious splash-n-thrash attack and malicious moshing madness, ye will certainly be needin' no more persuasion than gazin' yar weary eyes upon our album art!“

NEW ‘SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET’ COVERS
ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE IN SEPTEMBER 2009…
CHILDREN OF BODOM, the Finnish shredders who completed a highly successful headline tour of the UK in February, have confirmed the release of a new album, titled ‘Skeletons In The Closet’, for September of this year through Spinefarm Records UK.
The follow-up to last year’s ‘Blooddrunk’ outing, ‘Skeletons…’ is a selection of cover versions, some of them existing recordings, others especially laid down for this release.
COB have been recording covers since the early days of their career, some predictably heavy (“Silent Scream” by Slayer, for example), others reflecting an altogether broader taste (“Talk Dirty To Me” by Poison), so fans will be intrigued to see which of the existing ones get the final nod here, and also which news ones are added to the list.
Bay Area Thrash Legends TESTAMENT have announced a METAL HAMMER sponsored UK tour, hot off the heels of their support stint with Judas Priest and exclusive show in London where the band played their first two albums in their entirety.
Guitarists Alex Skolnik and Eric Peterson are looking forward to the band’s return. Says Alex:
“It was so nice to hear that we have a whole week of July dates in the UK, one of our favourite places with some of the best fans. In earlier years, with the exception of London, we somehow never had the opportunity to do proper tours of the region. Now, it feels we're experiencing a rebirth there and it's good to be able to make up for lost time. Looking forward to a week of great shows in the UK with good friends, witty humor and lots of curries, ales and pasties.”
“Better late than never! It's taken us twenty years to finally do extensive touring in the UK. We've always asked to play more cities other than just playing London when we come through to Europe. London has always been one of our favorite cities in the world to play and the English crowd rules! Long live England! Long live Testament!”
Frontman Chuck Billy is also geared up:

As anyone who saw that storming, sold-out Metal Hammer Presents Testament show last month will know, they’ll kick your ass up between your shoulder blades guaran-fucking-teed. My neck’s still aching!”
